The "Exegesis over Eisegesis" is designed to both act as a reminder to ourselves and help start conversations with others.
First, to remind ourselves of the importance of understanding the culture, context, and purpose of the passage we are reading. As well as to ensure we don't read ourselves into the text to make it about us.
Secondly, to help start productive Gospel-centered conversations about the importance of understanding and reading scripture in the way it was meant to be understood. In doing so we are able to understand not only what the text meant to its original readers, but also how it applies to us now as believers in our context.
The hat is a black/charcoal 112-LP Richardson Snapback Trucker Hat. The "Exegesis over Eisegesis" logo is laser engraved into a tan leather leather patch. The patch is firmly sewn into the hat to ensure it can be worn in any environment.

The hat itself is very nice both my husband and pastor were very happy to get them and wear them in a picture together. They liked the color and quality of the material on the front of the hat. My husband is not one to wear a trucker hat normally but he will make an exception for this one. While all of that is great, I was most impressed with your customer service. I ordered one and then turned right around and ordered the second one on a separate order a few minutes later. I received an email the following morning confirming that I actually wanted 2 hats and that this was not a mistake on my part. Once that was cleared up, I received a follow up email asking if I would like both hats in one shipment so I could save on shipping. So thankful I learned about The Honest Youth Pastor through Alisa Childers' podcast. I never took sermon notes and was just reacting to sermons based on my feelings. Now that I've been following the Honest Youth Pastor, I've learned how to truly listen to a sermon to determine if the text is read, if the text is expounded, if application is given, and if the Gospel is preached. This has helped me truly grow in the Word of God and has given me assurance that I am attending a Bible believing church. To be honest, I am now excited every Sunday morning to use my sermon review booklet as it keeps me engaged in the message. Any questions I have, I am now spending time after church researching and reflecting on the message given. I highly recommend!
Bought this for my wife who is a big note taker. It was received well. It's a good size for note taking while still able to check the "sermon review" boxes.
Im using this color booklet at a community center in Hemet, CA. The kids have enjoyed the lesson and coloring...their work has been beautiful! God's Work in their hearts is priceless and eternal!

Thanks for the first video on The Apostles' Creed and then the coloring book. The book is awesome. I initially printed it so that families in our Sunday School Class could speak with their children after the class. However, it became a BIG hit and the families are loving the coloring during the class (all the adults are coloring too haha) and then the discussions afterwards with our children has been wonderful. Thanks for continuing the work that the Lord has given you!
