The short version: your notes belong to you. They stay on your device and in your own Google Drive, and they are never sent to the developer or to any third party.
What information the app handles
Notes you create. The app stores the notes you write, including sermon titles, church names, speaker names, dates, scripture references, sermon links, your note text, and your answers and comments on the review checklist. This is stored on your device.
Google account (optional, Android only). If you choose to turn on sync across devices, the app asks you to sign in with your Google account and grant access to the app's private, hidden storage area in your Google Drive (the "appDataFolder", permission drive.appdata). Through this sign-in the app receives basic Google account information as part of the sign-in process. The app does not read, list, or change any other files in your Google Drive.
App settings. Preferences such as text size and layout are saved on your device.
How the information is used
- Your notes are used only to display them to you in the app.
- If you turn on sync, your notes are copied to the app's private folder in your own Google Drive so they can appear on your other devices. The app uses the Drive access only for this purpose.
What we do not do
- We do not collect your notes or personal information on any server we operate. The developer has no access to your notes or your Google account.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your information with anyone.
- We do not use advertising, analytics, or tracking tools, and we do not build profiles about you.
- We do not use your data for anything other than providing the features described above.
Third-party services
Sync uses Google Sign-In and Google Drive, which are provided by Google. When you use them, Google's Privacy Policy applies. The app's use of information received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Storage and security
Notes are stored on your device in the app's private storage. If sync is on, they are also stored in the hidden app data area of your Google Drive, which is protected by your Google account. Data is transmitted to Google over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but the app keeps your data within your device and your own Google account.
Retention and deleting your data
- On your device: Your notes stay until you delete them in the app or uninstall the app.
- In Google Drive: Turn off sync or sign out in the app's Settings, then remove the app's data from your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions (choose Sermon Notes, then delete its stored data). Uninstalling the app does not automatically remove data already saved in your Drive.

Children's privacy
The app is a general-purpose note-taking tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at the same web address with a new effective date.
